Nacido en Marsella en 1900, amigo Louis Brauquier de Gabriel Audisio, Henri Bosco, Joseph D'Arbaud fue un artista provenzal, un poeta, pintor, escritor de talento, fotógrafo, navegante. Cruzó el siglo XX como viajó por el mundo como un oficial de la Compagnie des Messageries Maritimes: Nouméa, Sidney, Diego Suárez, Alejandría, Colombo humanista ...

Esto fue considerado por Felibres como la esperanza de la literatura provenzal. Ganó el premio Catulo Mendes a 23 años, el precio de la Provenza Ventabren en 1962, el Gran Premio de la Academia Francesa de Poesía en 1971. En 1953, Brauquier se interesó en la pintura y se dio cuenta de alrededor de 80 mesas. En Provenza, vivió en Marsella y Saint-Mitre-les-Remparts hasta su muerte en 1976.
